Welcome to the show notes! Remember, this is a brief summary from the How to Market Your Horse Business podcast. You'll want to listen to the entire episode for all the good stuff!

When you think of email marketing and *your* equestrian business, what comes to mind?

I’d love for you to think “opportunity!” But, I know many horse business owners instead wonder how it’s even possible. Or, maybe you struggle with what to actually put in your emails so you have yet to send one.

Oftentimes, it’s either a lack of time or feeling like you just can’t do “all the things” and so email marketing falls to the very wayside.

But, I’m here to tell you something that not everyone will say …

Email marketing is the key to long-term sustainability for your horse business.

Do you want to sell products? Host events—either in-person or virtual? Announce new openings?

Just imagine what it would be like if you could send an email and fill your clinics before you ever had to post on social media and rely on the algorithm to spread the word?

Or, you announced a new breeding or opening in your program, and your books were filled just from your email list?

It’s not dreaming. It’s possible. And, in this episode you’ll hear the stats and real-life data to back it up.

At the end of our time together, you’ll be saying, “Email marketing is for my horse business.”

3 Ways Email Lists Are Completely Underrated by Equestrian Entrepreneurs

  1. Views. Social media averages 3% organic views for your content on any given day. On the other hand, email marketing averages 20% opens on the low-end and 50% on the high-end! Plus, 58% of users check their email before they check out social media or the news.

  2. Sales. People who buy products marketed through email spend 138% more than those who do not receive email offers. If you’re wondering if social media converts even better, think again: the average order value of an email is at least three times higher than that of social media. 3. Lifetime customer value. This is the average value of a person who joins your company's email list, for the entire duration of their time on your list. In other words, once they’re in, you can expect that they’ll be buying from you over the long term. That’s why 80% of business professionals believe that email marketing increases customer retention.

The biggest hurdles I hear when committing to email marketing are:

1. How do I build my list?

2. What do I say?

That’s why in Take the Reins, my 1:1 coaching program, we dedicate two of our 90-minute, 1:1 intensive sessions to creating your valuable free resource (AKA lead magnet) and planning out your email content strategy.

If you’re an equestrian entrepreneur who has a vision for your business—you know where you want to go, you just need a leg up to get your marketing in line with your goals—Take the Reins was designed specifically to help you get there.

Of course, you'll want to listen to the full episode to dig into each of the insights I shared and discover how you can apply each one in your horse business!
