Welcome to the show notes! Remember, this is a brief summary from the How to Market Your Horse Business podcast. You'll want to listen to the entire episode for all the good stuff!

Earlier this year, I had a great conversation as a guest on The Arabian Horse Connection podcast with Katie Feighner. And I know that what I shared there would be so helpful to you all as well so I asked her if I could share it on my podcast too!

Because here’s the thing. Social media is a free marketing tool that horse businesses of all sizes could stand to have a strategy for.

Yet, I know that you’re juggling so many things and you often just flat-out feel like you don’t have time for it. Even for those of you who want to, you may now know where to go or what to post when you get there.

So, we’re diving into the nuts and bolts of how horse business owners like you can use social media to grow your business, expand your reach, or share your message.

5 Strategies to Grow Your Horse Business With Social Media

  1. Create engaging content. What’s engaging? Regular, relevant, and rich.

  2. Be social. Don’t just post and leave—engage in the platform(s).

  3. Use the tools available to you on the different platforms. Hashtags, polls, reels, live video, etc. You don’t need to do EVERYTHING. But do commit to doing something.

  4. Look at Facebook Groups as an opportunity to serve. Look for questions you can answer; it’s going to build trust and authority. People buy from people. Looking to create your own group? Do it with some intentionality—don’t just create it and forget it.

  5. Plan your content ahead of time. Even one week at a time is better than always posting in the last minute.

BONUS Strategy: Train yourself to write your content to the person you want to work with. We naturally write about ourselves—it’s truly human nature, plus we often think we need to talk about ourselves to sell. However, the goal of your social media should first be to connect with people. And the best way to do that is for you to talk to people in your posts.
