Why It's Okay If You Aren't for Everyone

If you want to learn how to sell on social media then you have to learn how to create content that connects with the right people. That also means that your content won’t connect with everyone—and that’s more than okay.

stormlily marketing how to market your horse business

Welcome to the show notes! Remember, this is a brief summary from the How to Market Your Horse Business podcast. You'll want to listen to the entire episode for all the good stuff!

Does narrowing down your best-fit audience or ideal customer make you nervous?

You’re afraid to be for one group of people because you think that means you’re saying your product or service won’t work for anyone but that segment? (And of course, that’s not true because what you do will work for every horse and every rider. 😉)

The reality is, if you’re creating marketing that speaks to everyone it actually speaks to no one. That’s why in this episode, you’ll learn why identifying your best-fit audience is the best way to create marketing that connects you to the people who will actually buy from you.

Think about it this way: You are here because you are a horse business owner and my podcast is How to Market Your Horse Business. There are lots of podcasts about marketing but not about marketing your horse business.

You’re here because you know the examples and strategies on this podcast and the services that I provide will work for your horse business —even if they technically would work for any business.

It’s the same for you and the content you create for social media—sure, it might technically be for “everyone” but you are not going to get connections that result in sales if you are trying to talk to everyone. Your examples will be too broad, your problems will be too wide-open for interpretation, and your potential customers will keep on scrolling.

Take the time to get specific with your best-fit audience so that you can create content that connects.

Of course, you'll want to listen to the full episode to dig into each of the insights and discover how you can apply each one in your horse business!
