Welcome to the show notes! Remember, this is a brief summary from the How to Market Your Horse Business podcast. You'll want to listen to the entire episode for all the good stuff!

Have you ever felt like you were running yourself into the ground while running your horse business?

Dr. Alberto Rullan with Performance Equine Veterinary Services in Ocala, Florida, has been there, too. He grew up on a cattle farm in Puerto Rico and came to the U.S. for school with a fire in his heart for equine veterinary care.

Yet the idyllic picture of why he came to the U.S. quickly became muddied with school debt, managing people more than doctoring horses, and working from sun-up to sun-down with no time for his family.

That’s when he decided to make some major shifts both personally and professionally. And, now, he and his wife run two successful veterinary practices, he manages his time and his team in a completely new way, and he’s sharing what he’s learned with veterinarians everywhere he goes.

In this episode, you’ll hear Dr. Rullan’s story as well as three of the eight keys he believes are necessary for every equine business to succeed.

Dr. Rullan’s Three Keys to Building a Successful Equine Business

  1. The importance of visualization. What you think is what you say, what you say is what you do, what you do becomes your legacy. (source: Brandon Dawson, Dr. Rullan’s mentor)

  2. Setting goals and targets. Goal is your desired outcome. Then, you set small targets that help you obtain that goal. Remember to track your efforts and the results of your efforts.

  3. Increase production. Nothing stays stagnant, and that includes your business. That’s why you should always aim to go up in your business. Therefore, you need a system to increase your production.

Of course, you'll want to listen to the full episode to dig into each of the insights Dr. Rullan shared and discover how you can apply each one in your horse business!
